Our Strategic Objectives
In order for the Energy and Natural Resources Authority to perform the tasks for which it was established, there are long-term goals and goals that can be implemented in the short term to achieve the general policies of the authority, including:
General objectives:
- Institutional building for the energy sector as stipulated in the energy sector policy document.
- Securing a permanent and cheap source of electricity through the expansion of the Gaza power station in case natural gas is available, in addition to the regional connection with neighboring countries.
- Building an integrated electrical system linking the governorates of Gaza with the governorates of the West Bank.
- Building an information system for the peaceful applications of atomic energy in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency in order to collect and document information.
- Establishing an information database on the current and future situation for the possibility of benefiting from renewable energy sources in Palestine, enabling us to find appropriate solutions to energy problems, as well as referring to them and benefiting from them in conducting studies and research related to the use of solar energy, wind energy and biogas in Palestine.
Partial goals:
- Completion of the electrical transmission project in the governorates of Gaza to absorb the energy produced from the Gaza Power Plant.
- Supplying natural gas to the Gaza power plant in order to reduce the cost of the electrical energy unit (kWh) produced from the station.
- Incorporating the responsibility of the natural resources file currently distributed to many national institutions to the Energy and Natural Resources Authority so that we can properly manage it and obtain the desired results.
- Evaluating renewable energy sources, preparing an atlas of climate data, and developing the Palestinian laboratory for energy research
